Savita Doll 23″ Cloth Doll Pattern
This pattern, from My Sunshine Dolls, includes clear, step by step written directions and photos for each step. It includes a pattern to make a 23″ cloth doll with sewn on underwear. Doll has long felt hair and wears a traditional Indian outfit. Outfit includes a tunic top with contrasting sleeve bands, decorative bottom trim and a neck scarf with hook and loop closure in the back, pants with a decorative bottom trim and elastic waist and a headband with bead. Shoes are sewn onto the doll.
Recommended Fabrics: Cotton, felt, sequin, chiffon
Supplies Needed:
Doll
- 1 fat quarter in skin color for face, body, legs and arms
- 1 scrap fabric for underwear
- Small piece of sequin fabric for shoes
- 1 large piece of felt for hair
- 1 scrap piece of felt for mouth
- Fabric marker
- Stuffing
- Thread
- Embroidery thread
- Sewing needle
- Doll needle (3 ½” to 4” long)
Outfit
- ½ yard of fabric for tunic
- ½ yard of fabric for pants and contrast bands for tunic
- 24” long by 3” wide piece of fabric for scarf (non fray fabric preferred)
- 1 ½” to 2” wide gold trim for bottom of tunic and pants
- 10 ½” of ½” elastic for pants
- 6 ¼” of ¼” hook and loop tape or ½” hook and loop tape (you can trim in half to make ¼”)
- Small gold rope or embroidery thread for headpiece
- Small bead for headpiece
- Thread
