Egg Hunt – Easter Basket 18″ Doll Accessories
The Egg Hunt Easter Basket, by Genniewren Designs, is the ideal accessory for your doll to take on her Easter egg hunt. There’s plenty of room inside for lots of chocolate eggs and maybe even a cute little fluffy chick or two. It’s the perfect size for taking bunches of daffodils to school or church to share the joy of spring, and a great way to transport a special Easter Bunny softie.
This fully lined basket pattern can be made with no hand sewing at all and offers two options: a ribbon woven basket with a choice of braided or flat ribbon handles and an all-fabric option with a ruffled eyelet edge and fabric handles. Both versions are equally cute and easy to make.
The ribbon woven basket is a great fun project for those “mommy and me” or “grandma and me” moments as children will love weaving and braiding the ribbons to make the basket. It’s also the perfect way to use up some of those ribbon scraps left over from other projects – the pieces that you can’t bring yourself to throw away!
The all-fabric option in this offers a ruffled edge for cuteness, although without the ruffles there’s plenty of space for a spring themed embroidery design on the basket side if you prefer.
The Egg Hunt basket is not just for Easter. It’s fun to use throughout the year, depending on the fabric and ribbon colors used:
Need a basket for the 4th of July picnic? Make the Egg Hunt basket with patriotic red white and blue ribbons or fabrics – there’s room for plenty of goodies in there!
With purple, green or orange fabric and/or ribbons it’s spookily perfect for collecting all those treats on Halloween.
Don’t forget blue and gold for Chanukah, and red, green and white for Christmas baskets too.
Or you can make the basket as a purse to match any outfit.
Your doll definitely needs this basket pattern for cute accessories all year round.
This fun PDF sewing pattern is designed for use with 18″ dolls such as American Girl®.
