Historic Fashions Native Plains Buckskin Dress Doll Clothes Pattern For Dollfriends
Many hours of research went into providing a historically accurate pattern to make a Native Plains buckskin dress. Simple enough for beginners and can be made sewing by hand (historically correct) or by machine. Learn as you sew with the teaching of Native American culture and the making of buckskin clothing.

Recommended Fabrics: Deerskin splits, synthetic suede or leather, woven low-pile upholstery fabric
Supplies Needed:
- Material: 1/2 yard Deerskin Split, faux leather or suede
- Notions:
- Sewing Machine Method: Matching thread
- Hand Sewing: Sinew or leather cording split in half
- If Woven Cloth is Used: 1/2 yard very lightweight fusible interfacing
- Back Closure: 14” leather cording
- Shoulder Decoration: (optional) 1/8 yard of woven material decorated
- Beading Option: 10 to 11” pre-beaded decoration
- 8 Circular silver beads for decorative fringe
