Kitty Cabaret Costume 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
Your 18” doll will look adorable in her Kitty Costume which is just perfect for her tap dance recital. The costume, by Little Miss Muffett, includes four pieces:
- An all-in-one bodysuit
- Fur-trimmed gloves
- Kitty ears
- A delicate little choker
The pull-on bodysuit has a fur-trimmed, off-the-shoulder neckline and is complete with knee-length tights and a fur-trimmed semi-circular skirt. Ribbon ties on the shoulders add to the overall effect and a furry tail is attached to the back of the bodysuit pants. The bodysuit which is pulled on feet first, is made from Cotton Elastane which gives it a super snug fit. No Hook & Loop Tape is needed because of the fit.
This easy pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl ®.
Fabric Used: Cotton Elastane, Spandex and Lycra were used for the Bodysuits and Gloves; Short Pile Fur was used to trim the Neckline of the Black and White Bodices, Skirt hem edges and Glove cuffs. A feather boa was hand-stitched to the pink outfit for fun.
Fabric Requirements:
Body Suit incl. Skirt, Gloves & Ears* : 4-way stretch fabric such as Cotton Elastane, Spandex, Lycra – 15” x 36”
Fur Trim for Bodice Neck, Skirt Hem and Glove Cuffs : Synthetic Fur with knit fabric backing – short pile of approx. 3/8” – 26” x 4”
Notions:
Ribbon for Shoulder Straps and Choker – ± 45” x ¼” wide
Scrap Fabric for Inner Ears – 2” square
Fusible Web for Inner Ears – 2” square
*Felt Option for Ears – 5” square
Pipe Cleaner for Tail – 1 x 5 ½” long
Small Round Bell for Neck (Optional) – 1 x 10mm
Template Plastic or Card for Gloves & Inner Ears – 5” square
General Supplies: Matching Thread; Erasable Marking Pen; Sharp-nosed Scissors; Teflon™ Sheet; Paper Adhesive; Fabric Adhesive; Point Turner; general sewing supplies.
A Universal Stretch Needle – 75/11; Universal 40/80 Twin Needle and a Walking Foot are used during the sewing process.
