Questions: We know you might have questions – we encourage you to read through the following FAQs and testimonials.
Q: Would this be appropriate for homeschool curriculum?
A: Yes, as long as the student has previously taken the Design Academy course.
Q: Is this based in Seattle, or is it done online?
A: It’s all completed online, so you can work in your jammies.
Q: Is this about creating patterns?
A: Yes – however – it is NOT about creating PDF documents that you can sell. It is ONLY focused on the pattern drafting process.
Q: Do I need any additional software or special computer skills?
A: Adobe Reader or Preview (MAC) for PDF downloads is recommended. Class is taught on a forum website so basic computer knowledge is recommended. If using a PC, please view the site in Chrome; Internet Explorer seems to have some issues.
Q: Do the lessons come via webinar, or online course somehow?
A: Chapters will be delivered primarily via video. Videos are pre-recorded and accessible at any time.
Q: Do I have to be a good seamstress?
A: No, but you do need to be at least a beginner. Basic sewing skills are recommended, but the best part of the community environment is that we can all learn from each other. So if you need help, or are struggling with a certain sewing technique, there will be lots of people there to help you!
Q. What happens after I buy?
A. After the transaction is complete, you will receive a download link bundle that will include an overview of the upcoming session and the Supply List so you can gather up the necessary supplies ahead of time. We will send out a notification on January 10th with information explaining how to get started in the course.
