1865 Cape Island Dress 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
Sew your own version of this iconic 1860s girls dress from the collection of the Wisconsin Historical Museum. This PDF pattern features short sleeves set-in raglan style and a wide shallow scooped neck with a narrow yoke emphasizing the neckline. Calf-length skirt is pleated or gathered to a wide self-fabric waistband. View A has pleated bodice and skirt, puffed sleeves with fitted cuffs, and soutache braid trim. View B has gathered bodice and skirt with pintuck detailing.

-Dress: 3/4 yard medium-weight woven fabric such as quilting cotton, poplin, or linen.
-Lining: Scrap of lightweight woven cotton such as Imperial batiste.
-Notions: Coordinating thread, 2 – 3/8″ buttons, 2 sew-on snaps, scrap of lightweight fusible interfacing; View A: 5 yards 1/8″ soutache braid
