All Buttoned Up 18″ Doll Clothes
This adorable little dress by Love U Bunches can be worn as a sundress or over a tee as a jumper. It stitches up quickly and only requires two fat quarters – one for the dress and one for the lining. The pattern also features designer buttons made from shrink paper! They are super easy to make! Just color, cut, bake, and wear!
This PDF pattern is designed to fit 18″ dolls such as American Girl®, but can also fit 15″ baby dolls such as Bitty Baby®.
Recommended Fabrics: cotton quilting fabric or any light to medium weight tightly woven fabric
Supplies Needed:
-For the dress: One fat quarter or a piece of fashion fabric 24″ x 14″
-Color block border option: Two pieces of contrasting fabric 10″ x 3”
-For the lining: One fat quarter or a piece of fashion fabric 24″ x 14″
-Matching sewing thread
-2 decorative buttons, 5/8″ to 3/4″ wide
-2 snaps 4/0 (or larger size 1 for little hands)
-Fine point disappearing ink pen or fine pointed chalk marker
-Optional: Turning tool, fabric glue, fabric glue stick, cellophane tape
-Optional embellishments: Rickrack, ribbon, bows, bling!
For designer buttons:
-Shrinky Dink® Paper or Grafix® Shrink Film (or shrink paper by another manufacturer)
-Scissors or 1.5″ punch (Optional: 1.5″ to 2″ decorative punches)
-1/4” hole punch
-Permanent markers
-Pencil
-Cookie sheet
-Small ceramic or glass bowl (or cup)
-Parchment paper, heavy brown wrapping paper
-Oven (or toaster oven), cookie sheet, oven mitt
-Optional: Timer, sealant
