Bubble Shorts and Culottes 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
These super adorable Bubble Shorts and culottes have a V-yoke front with pleats and functioning pockets. The pocket trim and leg bands are created using bias with a Hong Kong finish. It all comes together for a perfect bubble look. Mix up the fabrics or just use one. Pair with a t-shirt or something fancy like the Soundside Blouse.
It’s easier than it looks! Culottes are made by hemming the leg openings instead of adding the band – very cute and fast.
The elastic waistband can be adjusted for the larger size dolls. These shorts are designed to fit 18″ dolls such as American Girl® and will also fit 15” dolls such as Bitty Baby®
Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight or mid-weight woven fabrics, such as chambray, cotton, linens, rayons
Supplies Needed:
• Fabric – 1/3 yard for shorts or culottes, all one fabric
a little bit less of main fabric if using more than one fabric
• 9” of 3/8” wide elastic. (Recommend at least 18”, half will be left when you are done.)
• 4 buttons, ¼” or 3/8” size (optional)
• Matching thread
• Disappearing ink fabric marker
