Budding Builder Utility Apron 18″ Doll Clothes
Your “Budding Builder” will love wearing this handy dandy utility apron by JenAshley Doll Designs when he/she is working on a building project. The pockets and tool loops provide lots of convenient places to keep tools, pencils, and even a tiny calculator close at hand. This versatile little apron can also serve as a gardener’s apron, a painter’s apron, a craft apron, etc. Would your doll like to work in a hardware store, department store, bakery, or restaurant? Be creative and have fun making up a new store name. Then use fabric markers or embroidery to add the name to your doll’s apron.
This PDF sewing pattern will fit most 18 inch dolls such as My Pal, American Girl, Journey Girls, and other similar sized dolls.
Recommended Fabrics: Woven fabric such as twill or quilters’ cotton
Supplies Needed:
-1/4 yard or fat quarter woven fabric
-Small square (about 9 X 9 inches) woven fabric for lining
-9.5 – 10 inch strip of single fold bias tape (.5 inch wide)
-1 small sew-on snap
-Pair of 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch D-rings
-2 mini buttons
-6-7 inch piece of 3/8 – 1/2 inch wide elastic for tool loops
-Matching or contrasting thread
Optional Materials:
-1 yard ribbon to use in place of fabric straps. I recommend 1/4-3/8 inch wide grosgrain ribbon.
-Seam sealant to seal ribbon ends
