Circus Performer Costume Pattern for 18″ Dolls and 23″ My Sunshine Cloth Dolls
This whimsical circus costume, from My Sunshine Dolls, includes a pattern to make bloomer shorts, a long sleeved top with front buttons, a neck ruffle with ribbon ties and a pointed hat with bows. Use bright colors and patterned fabrics for that circus look.
This is a perfect pattern for the advanced beginner seamstress. It includes a 14 page pattern with detailed directions and full color assembly photos, 4 pages of printer friendly directions and 5 pages of pattern pieces. The bloomer pattern comes in two pieces that will need to be taped together prior to cutting. There are no pattern pieces for the neck ruffle, hat bows, and hat trim. Directions for cutting out these pieces is given on the cutting instructions page.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit the 23″ My Sunshine cloth dolls such as the Lena doll. It will also fit 18″ dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Supplies: Cotton, linen, felt
Supplies Needed:
1 fat quarter for shorts, hat and trim (or if using premade bias for trim, 16″ of 1/2″ double fold bias tape)
1 fat quarter for shirt
2 pieces of fabric measuring 2 1/2″ wide by 36″ long for neck ruffle and a scrap of this fabric for the hat bows
40″ of 3/8″ ribbon for neck ruffle and shorts bow
1/2 yard of 3/8″ elastic for shorts
1 yard of 1/8″ braided elastic for shirt and hat
Small piece of felt for buttons (or 3 real buttons)
Stiff interfacing for hat
6″ of hook and loop tape
