Drawstring Shorts 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
These darling Drawstring Shorts make just the right fashion statement for your 18 inch fashionista doll. Dress them up with a stylish jacket for a dinner out with friends or pair them with a cute tee and Janes shoes for a fun day in the park. These shorts feature front pleats, slant pockets and a functioning drawstring laced through center front buttonhole openings which results in a paper bag style waist when tied. Our cover example shows the option of using a contrast waistband and pocket, which is a fun look! The shorts also look great all in one fabric!
The design looks best when a fabric with soft drape is used. A woven fabric is best, but not a stiff quilting cotton.
The PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18 inch soft bodied dolls such as American Girl®. It also fits the Karito Kids Doll (pictured on the example image bottom right).
Suggested fabrics include lightweight cottons, rayons, linens, and a variety of lightweight knits.
