Hills & Dales 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
Get ready for spring bike rides and doggy walks with this delightfully versatile Top and Capri Pants outfit, by Little Miss Muffett. The piped Top, which is totally reversible, closes in front with hook & loop tape, has mixed buttons down the front just for fun, pretty lemon-wedge front pockets and a cute Peek-a-Boo opening at the back. The fitted Capri Pants have attractive piped cuffs, and fun mixed buttons decorate the lower side seam. Mix and match fabrics, use contrasting colors, anything goes and the options are endless. This relatively easy pattern is designed to fit 18-inch soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.

Fabric Used – Quilter’s Cotton was used for the Top, Top Lining, Pockets and Cuffs on the Pants. Stretch Denim and Medium Weight Stable Knits were used for the pants.
Fabric Requirements:
Top Back & Front, Pockets : Quilter’s Cotton or Fabric of Choice – 10” x 20”
Top Contrast, Pockets & Pants Cuffs : Quilters’ Cotton or Fabric of Choice – 10” x 22”
Pants : Stretch Denim, Medium Weight Stable Knits – 10” x 20”
Pants Cuff Lining : White Quilter’s Cotton -7” x 3”
Notions:
Narrow Piping for Top, Pocket and Pants Cuffs – DIY or Purchased : 65”
Hook & Loop Tape for Top Front : 3/8” wide x 1”
Elastic for Pants (I use 10 cord elastic – 8mm wide) : 11 ½” x ¼” wide
Buttons for Reversible Top – 7 per side : ¼” – 3/8” wide x 14
Buttons for Pants Cuffs – 3 per side : ¼” – 3/8” wide x 6
Matching Thread, Marking Pen, Point Turner, Hemostatic Clamp or Scissors-Type Tweezers, Clear Tape, 2 Safety Pins, small Curved Embroidery Scissors, general sewing supplies.
A ‘Universal Sewing Needle – 80/12’, Stretch Needle, Denim Needle, a Walking Foot, a General Purpose Foot, Piping Foot or Zipper Foot, Open-Toed Foot and a ¼” Foot are used during the sewing process.
