Joy Bubble Shorts & Skirt 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
The Joy Bubble Shorts & Skirt includes two options of skirts and two options of shorts in one pattern! You can combine textures and colors of fabrics as you like. Step by step instructions make it easy to sew any of the options. The upper has a form-fitting silhouette with two front pockets, with or without bib. There is a patch pocket on the bib. The elasticated waistband makes it easy to take off and put on the shorts or skirt. The lower part is gathered and ends with a cuff. You will be able to create countless casual outfits with four options of Joy Bubble Shorts & Skirt. For example, these shorts & skirts are perfect for pairing with Flutter-Sleeve Top or the Joy Drawstring Tee, as shown on the cover image. Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics like quilting fabric, chambray, cotton corduroy.
Supplies Needed:
Option 1:
– 1/8, yard of woven fabric;
– 2 ½” x 20” piece of lightweight woven fabric for facing;
– thread to match;
– 6″ (width 3/8″) elastic;
– 1 button;
– a piece of cardstock 2” x 7” (or equivalent weight paper).
Option 2:
– 5” x 44” piece of woven fabric or ¼ yard of woven fabric;
– 4” x 16” piece of lightweight woven fabric for facing;
– contrast thread or thread to match;
– 5 ½” (width 3/8″) elastic;
– 2 snap fasteners;
– 2 buttons;
– 17” (width 3/8″) twill tape for shoulder straps;
– a piece of cardstock 2” x 7” (or equivalent weight paper).
Option 3:
– 1/8, yard of chambray;
– 5½” x 35” piece of quilting fabric;
– contrast thread or thread to match;
– 5½” (width 3/8″) elastic;
– 2 snap fasteners;
– 2 buttons;
– a piece of cardstock 2” x 7” (or equivalent weight paper).
Option 4:
– 1/8, yard of woven fabric;
– 2 ½” x 20” piece of lightweight woven fabric for facing;
– thread to match;
– 5½” (width 3/8″) elastic;
– 1 button;
– a piece of cardstock 2” x 7” (or equivalent weight paper).
