Matilda Cardigan Knitting Pattern
Matilda was inspired by the color palette on a vintage French postcard, the reverse stockinette stitch stripes are reminiscent of ticking fabric often used in early to mid 1900’s textiles and decor. Cardigan is knit from the top-down and features fitted raglan sleeves with bloused cuffs and hook & eye closures at front. This PDF pattern is designed to fit the American Girl, or similar 18″ dolls with an 11″ chest circumference.
Supplies Needed:
-Knit Picks Palette – 100% Wool; Fingering weight (231 yards per 50 gram ball); 1 ball in Oyster Heather for main color; 1 ball in Pimento for contrasting color, or a suitable substitute yarns.
-24″ circular needles in sizes US 2 (3.00 mm) and US 3 (3.25mm) (or sizes needed to obtain gauge)
-3 hook & eye closures
-4 stitch markers
-a darning needle for weaving in ends
Skill Level: Easy – requires a knowledge of basic knitting skills, simple color changes for stripes, increasing, decreasing and simple finishing.
