Piccadilly Sweater and Skirt Bundle 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
The Liberty Jane® Euro Libby: Piccadilly Sweater & Skirt PDF Pattern designed to fit 18 inch American Girl® Dolls, can be used to create a variety of looks!
Don’t fear sewing with knits! This top features easy to sew elements such as: raglan style sleeves and binding on the neck, sleeve, and hem. A raglan sleeve is cut with straight sides instead of a curved top edge. It is lined up to the front and back using simple straight seams. Binding on the sleeves, hemline, and neck opening is simple and much easier to sew than a standard hem on knit fabrics. This gives your top a professional finished look – no stretched out hems! Yeah! The back of the sweater is finished with a loop and button closure – very chic!
The top in the Piccadilly outfit is made from a very thin sweater knit fabric and stertch lace overlay. The top pictured on the cover image of the pattern is made from a lightweight rayon blend knit and stretch lace. Both tops use the the same fabric as the body for their binding.
A variety of knits can be used to make this top: sweater knit, rayon blend, jersey, sweatshirt or fleece knit. The overlay can be done out of any type of fabric: sequin mesh, lace, chiffon, silk, etc. The top can be made with or without the overlay.
The skater style skirt features a fitted yoke and waistband with a back hook/eye closure. Fabrics recommended are: micro suede, very thin faux leather, knit or dance fabric. This skirt is designed to be sewn without a hem to achieve a nice drape. If you are using a serger and have the coverstitch option you could make the skirt out of rayon challis, silk cotton, or any woven fabric with a nice drape.
