The Polka Dot Party Dress by Love U Bunches is perfect for spring and summer. A simple A-Line dress in the front with a drop waist gathered skirt in the back. Add small bows on the side or at the neckline, or for a very girly-girl look, add a large bow at the center back. It’s the perfect dress for a party or laying in a hammock on a warm summer day! Instructions for the perfect bow are included! Complete the outfit with the Plain Jane shoe pattern also available from Love U Bunches.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18″ dolls such as American Girl®. This pattern is also available for 16″ A Girl For All Time dolls.
Recommended Fabrics: weight woven fabric such as cotton quilting fabric
Supplies Needed:
For the dress:
-One fat quarter or 1/3 yard light weight woven fabric such as cotton quilting fabric
For the lining:
-One fat quarter or 1/3 yard light weight woven fabric such as cotton quilting fabric
-Matching sewing thread
-3″ hook & loop tape
-Sewing needle
-Fine point disappearing ink pen or fine pointed chalk marker
-Optional bows:
Large bow: 18″ of 1 1/2″ satin ribbon
Small bow: 12″ of 3/8″ satin ribbon for each small bow
-Optional for finishing raw edges of ribbon: Fray Check®
-Optional: Turning tool, fabric glue, cellophane tape, hole punch
