Course Overview: This course is Sewing Regency Fashion. I’m excited to announce the Shari Fuller will be our instructor for this series. Her design experience in the world of historical fashion goes deep! She brings to us two beautifully detailed pattern brands, Thimbles and Acorns and Keepers Dolly Duds. Throughout this 4-part series you will see several designs featured in the video demonstrations.
The course will be broken down into these installments:
- Planning the ensemble. Choose your dress pattern. Determine the foundation garments, pantalettes, shift, stays, petticoat. Choose fabrics and colors. Consider embellishments such as trims, embroidery.
- A Look at Undergarments. She’ll do a quick overview of each piece. Why are those pantlettes split in two? How to put on the two piece stays. She will also show how to make a simple petticoat that is custom designed for your dress by using your dress pattern
- Details on the Tea With The Governess pattern. She’ll show a bit of putting the bodice together, then move on to the skirting and show how to do some beginner closed white work!
- Embellished detail continues with Van Dyke Points: She’ll demonstrate how to make Van Dyke points to use for trimming and then show how to apply them along the waistline and skirting!
