South African Zulu Hat Doll Clothes Pattern For Dollfriends
This pattern includes a history of the Zulu Hat and three Zulu Hat styles. As a bonus, a pattern for a Swahili Kanga Dress is included. Quick and easy to sew, these patterns are perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a quick and fun African fashion.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit Dollfriends®.
Recommended Fabrics: Top of hat requires three-way stretch fabric. Band/Tie can use a woven, non-stretch fabric if desired. Kanga is best with a light-weight woven fabric.
Supplies Needed:
Zulu Hat Materials Needed:
- 1/2 yard of 4-way stretch fabric
- 1/4 yard medium weight fusible interfacing
- 10 x 10 inch piece of cardboard
- Fabric Glue
Option C:
- 2 each 1 inch buttons
- 2 x 2 inch piece of soft plastic
- 2 inch upholstery sewing needle
- Extra strength thread
Bonus Swahili Kanga Dress
- 1/2 yard fabric
- 20 inches of 7/16” ribbon cut into two pieces of 10 inches each
- Beads and or 1/2 yard of one inch ribbon
