Valentina 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
Soft and feminine, and oh so romantic. This beautiful dress or top, by Little Miss Muffett, is made from cotton knit with touches of lace and has three sleeve variations. The delicate lace bodice is enhanced by the front and side lace inserts, lace edge trim and pretty bows. Dress it up with an elegant necklace, be dashing with boots and hat, or carefree and casual with leggings and pretty sandals. This relatively easy PDF pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.
Supplies Needed:
Fabric Requirements – Lightweight Cotton Knit was used for the dresses and top, and soft lace for the godets. Any soft draping fabric that does not fray will be suitable for the dress or top.
Long-Sleeved Dress: Lightweight Cotton Knit – 20” x 22”
Lace for Long-Sleeved Dress: Soft Lace or Net – 10” x 20”
Sleeveless Dress: Lightweight Cotton Knit – 16” x 22”
Lace for Sleeveless Dress: Soft Lace or Net – 10” x 10”
Short-Sleeved Top: Lightweight Cotton Knit -17” x 22”
Lace for Top: Soft Lace or Net – 10” x 17”
Notions:
Lace Hem & Bodice Edge Trim for Dress : ½” – 5/8” wide x 60”
Lace Hem & Bodice Edge Trim for Top : ½” – 5/8” wide x 55”
hook and loop tape for Dress : 3/8” wide x 6 ½”
hook and loop tape for Top : 3/8” wide x 7”
Ribbon for Bows : ¼” wide x 8” = 2 bows
Ribbon for Bodice (Optional) : ¼” wide x 12”
Matching Thread, Marking Pen, Point Turner, Loop Turner or Scissors-type Tweezers, Press-sponge or Tailor’s Ham, general sewing supplies.
A Stretch Sewing Needle 130/705H-S (75/11) and a Walking Foot are used throughout the sewing process.
