From the back, the only noticeable feature about her was that she wore a dress, in the crowd of friends wearing shorts and tanks. But when she turned, laughing in delight at some inside joke, I couldn’t help noticing the parade of ruffles and metal studs down the front. What a clever combination of confidence and charm!
Now they were walking towards me. Ruffled girl dropped her sunglasses, bent to pick them up, eyes locked with mine. I smiled nervously and looked away, not wanting to admit that I had been staring at her dress.
“The Wild Side” features a princess-seamed bodice, front dropped-shoulder seam, numerous topstitched details, and of course rows of ruffles and studded tabs down the front! Box pleats march nicely around the skirt for a fun, military-inspired finish.
This dress works great with a variety of fabrics; corduroy, lightweight wools, mid-weight cotton, or a nice lightweight rayon would all give great results.

-1/4 yard fashion fabric
-Scraps of contrast fabric
-Scraps for lining
-30” (1 yd) of 1/2” or 5/8” wide trim
-Iron-on studs (optional)
-7-9” invisible zipper
-Matching thread
