Wrap & Tie Halter Dress and Top 18″ Doll Clothes Pattern
This is an easy-to-make halter dress or top that wraps around your doll and ties. With two style options and three lengths, your doll can be dressed for any warm weather occasion. This pattern can be made casual or formal, depending on the fabric chosen. And the wrap-and-tie style ensures a good fit while eliminating the need for zippers, snaps, or hook and loop closures. This versatile pattern is sure to become one of your favorites, as it is a perfect blank canvas for all your design ideas!
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18″ dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics. Knits are not suitable .
Supplies Needed:
- Option 1 (simpler design)
- Peplum top – ¼ yard
- Short Dress – ¼ yard
- Long Dress – ½ yard
- Option 2 (reversible)
- Peplum top – 1/8 yard each of two coordinating prints and two inches of one solid
- Short Dress – 3/16 yard (7 inches) each of two coordinating prints and two inches of one solid
- Long Dress – 1/3 yard each of two coordinating prints and 2 inches of one solid
- ALL OPTIONS:
- Matching thread
- Tube turning tool
- Frixion™ erasable pen
- Bamboo point turner
- Scrap of tear-away stabilizer or tissue paper
